CPU Performance Stack

CPU Performance Stack collects information about processor capabilities, the active power policy, and CPU behavior at the moment of the check. The result can be viewed in the summary, recommendations, and technical details.

How to open and run a check

  1. Open Tools → CPU Performance Stack.
  2. Close heavy background tasks or, conversely, prepare a reproducible workload.
  3. Start the analysis and do not switch the power plan during data collection.
  4. Compare the Hardware, Windows, and Result sections.

During the check, the tool compares the power plan name, available CPU control mechanisms, active Windows settings, and the collected readings. A recommendation may point out a mismatch between them. Additional checks are required to confirm a hardware fault.

How to interpret

  • repeat the collection after a reboot if you have just changed the chipset driver or power plan;
  • compare results under identical temperatures and background loads;
  • do not treat a short-term frequency drop as throttling without checking the temperature, power, and the cause of the limitation;
  • on a laptop, test AC power and battery power separately.
