What changes
Section titled “What changes”Windows restricts the background operation of Microsoft Store apps. Regular Win32 programs, services and scheduled tasks continue to run.
Trade-offs and verification
Section titled “Trade-offs and verification”After applying, check notifications, synchronization and data updates in the Store apps you use. The reduction of their background activity is confirmed. The overall CPU and memory savings depend on the installed apps; they were not measured.
How to change and revert
Section titled “How to change and revert”Open “Optimization” → “Basic” → “Services and background processes” → “UWP app background operation” and set the toggle to “Enabled”: BoosterX will apply the restriction on the background operation of Microsoft Store apps. Click “Apply” at the bottom of the page. To revert, set the toggle to “Disabled”: BoosterX will restore the default background operation, and click “Apply” again.
