Enable and verify

On a compatible modern GPU, start with HAGS enabled and keep the state that gives more stable frame time in your games.

Support depends on WDDM, the graphics card and the driver. There is no universal FPS gain for all configurations.

What changes

On compatible hardware, part of GPU scheduling is handed over to a dedicated hardware scheduler. Windows checks the capabilities of the adapter and the driver. Selecting the setting by itself does not enable HAGS on an unsupported system.

How to verify

Reboot the PC and make sure that in the Windows graphics settings the mode is marked as active. Then run several identical game runs: compare frame time and check whether there is any micro-stuttering.

How to change and revert

Open «Optimization» → «Basic» → «Games and graphics» → «HAGS», enable the setting, apply the changes and reboot the PC. If stability has worsened, disable it in the same way and reboot again.
