What changes

Cloud sync transfers Windows settings and preferences between devices through a Microsoft account; according to the visible description, the storage used by BoosterX is OneDrive. Examples of synchronized parameters are theme and appearance, accessibility, language settings, known Wi-Fi networks with passwords, and other Windows settings. After disabling, the settings are no longer uploaded to the cloud and do not appear on other devices with the same account.

In Windows 10, the transfer is handled by “Sync your settings” (“Settings” → “Accounts” → “Sync your settings”). In recent Windows 11 versions, this role is performed by Windows Backup (“Settings” → “Accounts” → “Windows backup”, the “Remember my apps” and “Remember my preferences” toggles), which additionally offers restoration during the initial setup of a new device. OneDrive’s work with files and background synchronization jobs (Microsoft sync, setting in Windows) are regulated separately.

How to verify the result

Sign in to the same Microsoft account on a second device, change the theme on the first one and wait a few minutes: after disabling, the change is not transferred — the second device keeps the previous theme.

How to change and revert

Open “Optimization” → “Privacy” → “System privacy” → “Cloud sync”, move the toggle to the “Enabled” position: BoosterX will apply the disabling of cloud sync for Windows settings. Click “Apply”. With “Instant apply” enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, move the toggle to the “Disabled” position and apply the change again: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state with working settings synchronization.
