On the Optimization → Customization tab, you can configure the Windows interface, search, system features, context menu and input. Most settings affect convenience and privacy. You should not usually expect a noticeable change in game performance from them.
Windows features
Section titled “Windows features”Windows stops keeping a log of actions and sending it to Microsoft.
Brightness, power and displays in one window; on a laptop it is better to leave it on.
Transferring settings between devices; disable it on individual PCs.
Recording only happens when started manually; there is no constant background load.
The language list stops being sent to websites and distinguishing you from others.
Only in outdated Windows 10 builds; on most systems the setting is not visible.
Windows shell
Section titled “Windows shell”Startup apps launch immediately after sign-in, without the smooth appearance.
Reducing the default delay, for example to 20 ms, without accidental triggers.
Disable it for fast sign-in without a password; leave it on shared devices.
The old menu with battery percentage and power plan selection on Windows 10.
The “Cut” and “Paste” commands are available immediately, without a second click.
Fast opening and GIF animation; editing remains in “Photos”.
All antivirus, driver and messenger icons are visible without overflow.
Seconds in the clock — only if you really need them for work.
The button is hidden; virtual desktops and Win+Tab continue to work.
Force-closing hung programs directly from the taskbar icon.
“Start” and “Quick access” stop showing usage history.
Windows stops remembering which documents you opened.
Search and assistants
Section titled “Search and assistants”Disabling the assistant if the card is visible and it is not used.
For privacy and a cleaner “Start” without the list of used apps.
The taskbar becomes cleaner without the weather and news card.
Local minimalist search without web content.
The button is hidden; the Chat app remains in the app list.
A predictable background with less suggestions and web content.
A clean “Start” without recommended apps and suggestions.
BoosterX itself recommends disabling widgets on a gaming PC.
Search becomes local, without web suggestions and online results.
Disable it on an already configured PC; BoosterX recommends this itself.
Assistant calls stop opening Copilot if it is not used.
Context menu, visual effects and input

Cleaning temporary files in two clicks from the desktop.
Changing the power plan without opening the “Power options” window.

Do not enable it for a regular user without an administrative need.

Visual effects
Section titled “Visual effects”Disable it if the lighting is controlled by the manufacturer’s app or is not needed.
An instant interface without animations; helps on weak PCs.
A matter of appearance or a weak GPU; it is not a gaming optimization.
“Best performance” or “Best appearance”; completely disabling effects spoils text.
The wallpaper stays in its original quality, without compression artifacts.
Input and keyboard
Section titled “Input and keyboard”Input data stops being sent to Microsoft.
An accidental series of Shift presses stops opening the sticky keys dialog in games.
Disabling text and handwriting collection for privacy.
Dangerous context menu commands require separate verification, and visual settings should be chosen based on convenience. The shell mechanisms are researched in a separate work.
