Disable without content searchOn a gaming PC where content search of files is not used, disabling removes the indexer and related processes from the background.
Leave it enabled if you frequently search documents, mail or file contents via Start and File Explorer.

What changes
Section titled “What changes”After a reboot the indexing service no longer starts. In the test the indexer processes disappeared; before disabling, their total working set was about 64 MB. On another PC the amount may differ.
Trade-offs and verification
Section titled “Trade-offs and verification”Search for apps and settings is partially preserved, but searching files and their contents may become slower or less complete. After a reboot, check your usual queries in Start and File Explorer.
How to change and revert
Section titled “How to change and revert”Open “Optimization” → “Basic” → “Services and background processes” → “Indexing” and set the toggle to “Enabled”: BoosterX will disable the indexing service. Apply the changes and reboot the PC. To revert, set the toggle to “Disabled”: BoosterX will restore the standard indexing, apply the changes and reboot again.
