What changes

The setting works as a group, not as a single interface toggle. According to the BoosterX description, disabling removes the “Security and Maintenance” toasts (they appear over games and can minimize a full-screen application), Windows Security Center warnings and warnings when opening executable files: Windows stops warning about “low-risk” extensions such as EXE, BAT and VBS. Reverting restores the original values; a separate reboot is not mentioned in the setting description.

When disabling, BoosterX writes the values from the right column; reverting deletes the values and restores the default behavior. The first two rows disable the “Security and Maintenance” toasts, the third and fourth — Windows Security Center warnings. The last three weaken protection: the row 1806 and LowRiskFileTypes remove the warning when launching executable files (in LowRiskFileTypes a list of .exe;.reg.;.bat;.vbs;.cmd;.ps1;.zip;.rar;.msi;.msu;.lnk;.7z;.tar.gz;.doc;.docx;.pdf; is written), and DisableSecuritySettingsCheck disables the Internet Explorer security settings check.

Exceptions and differences

These are exactly the notifications that appear when antivirus or firewall is turned off, so along with the intrusive pop-ups you also lose the signal about disabled antivirus. BoosterX explicitly warns: along with the notifications you lose real-time signals about viruses, unavailable updates and backups — you will have to check the protection status manually.

How to verify the result

After reverting the setting, launch an executable file marked as downloaded from the internet: the warning before opening is shown again. The “Security and Maintenance” toasts return along with the registry values on the next system event.

How to change and revert

In BoosterX, open “Optimization” → “Security” → “Basic Windows protection” → “Intrusive protection notifications” and set the toggle to “Off”: BoosterX will apply the default Windows state with protection notifications enabled. Click “Apply” at the bottom of the page; with “Instant apply” enabled, the change is applied immediately. To disable notifications, the “On” position is used: BoosterX will write the values from the right column of the table; reverting — “Off” again.
