On a standalone gaming PC, access can be closed; with phone integration or “continue on another device”, check that they work first.

If the exchange with your phone or a second PC breaks, restore the original state.

BoosterX closes synchronization with linked devices for all Store/UWP apps at once — globally, at the Windows level. The BoosterX description states the scope as follows: apps sync data between the computer and other devices, such as smartphones or tablets. The visible consumers are “Phone Link” and “continue on another device” scenarios, for example transferring an open tab or document to another computer or phone. After the block, such automatic exchange does not happen.

Do not confuse this with neighboring permissions: “Sync with wireless devices” closes discovery of unpaired devices on the network (DLNA, printers, Wi-Fi Direct), while “Trusted devices” covers accessories explicitly designated as trusted. Classic Win32 programs use their own channels and are not subject to the block. A per-app block remains on the system permissions page, if your version of Windows has one. BoosterX supports this setting on Windows 10 and Windows 11; the set of “Settings” pages differs — check on your system.

Check the exchange in “Phone Link”: a photo or message from a connected phone should arrive on the PC. If you transfer a tab or page to another device, for example from Edge, check that too. After the block, restart the app and repeat.

Open “Optimization” → “Privacy” → “App permissions” → “App access to device sync”, move the toggle to “On”: BoosterX will apply the block on synchronization with linked devices. Click “Apply”. If “Instant apply” is enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, move the toggle to “Off” and apply the change again: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state with device synchronization allowed.
