Disable

Disable it if you are not a Windows Insider program participant: BoosterX recommends turning it off for all ordinary PCs, and the tasks only periodically upload usage data.

Before a major update and compatibility diagnostics, restore the original state.

What changes

The actual scope of the setting is the CEIP scheduled task group: according to the visible BoosterX description, these are Consolidator, KernelCeipTask, UsbCeip and others. The tasks periodically create SQM logs about how Windows is used — which features are engaged, how long tasks take, what errors the system encounters — and upload them to Microsoft when connected to the network. Participation in the quality improvement program is voluntary, and Windows works without these tasks; Windows updates are not affected.

Do not confuse it with the Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser task: that one assesses update readiness. Windows 10 and Windows 11 are supported; Windows Insider participants use the feedback channel separately. Opting out of the program as a whole is the CEIP/SQM setting.

How to verify the result

Open Task Scheduler (Control Panel → Administrative Tools) and find Microsoft → Windows → Customer Experience Improvement Program in the tree: the tasks in the group should be shown as disabled.

How to change and revert

Open Optimization → Privacy → Scheduler and background tasks → CEIP tasks and move the toggle to the Enabled position: BoosterX will apply disabling of the CEIP task group. Click Apply. If Instant apply is enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, move the toggle to the Disabled position and apply the change again: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state with the CEIP tasks enabled.
