Creating a custom tweak

In the “My tweaks” section, you can create your own entry in four ways. It will perform the action you specify. The presence of an entry in BoosterX does not mean its safety has been verified.

Four ways to create

1. “Add tweak manually” — you edit and create the setting yourself: name, description, icon, tweak type (“Double choice” for a parameter, BAT script, BCDEDIT and others) and values. If the key needs to be deleted, the value is written as “Null” (a hint in the interface).
2. “Enter tweak with AI autofill” — you enter a command (for example, reg add…), and the tweak fields are filled in automatically.
3. Import a file — simply drag the file into the import area (“Select a file or drag it into the window”) from anywhere: from File Explorer, the desktop, an archive. You can drop several files at once — TweaX analyzes each one and automatically adds the name, description, enable and disable. This is convenient for transferring ready-made sets: for example, settings from your own Windows build — tweak files from a custom ISO image can be added here in full, and they will be split into separate tweaks in the list.
4. “Generate a tweak via TweaX” — the setting or script is created from your prompt via TweaX AI.

Steps from opening to a saved entry: open “Optimization” → “My tweaks”, click “Add”, choose a method, fill in the fields and confirm saving — the “Add to My tweaks” button completes creation. The entry will appear in the “My tweaks” list and is applied like a regular setting: with a toggle and the “Apply” button, and with “Instant apply” enabled — immediately.

Before saving

1. Check the contents of the command or parameter, including arguments and rights.
2. Provide a clear name and description of the expected result.
3. Prepare a reverse command or save the original state manually.
4. First test the tweak on a separate system or after creating a restore point.

Before importing, review the contents of unknown .reg, .bat and PowerShell files. Treat an AI-created file as a draft, and check it just as carefully as any external script.

How to verify the result

Apply the created tweak to one clear change and check the actual result and the return to the original state.

How to change and revert

Open “Optimization” → “My tweaks”, select the entry and apply or disable it; if there is an error — fix or delete the entry. It is not part of the official BoosterX catalog, and compatibility with future Windows versions will have to be checked separately.
