What changes

License telemetry is diagnostic data that Microsoft collects during activation and Windows updates. According to the visible BoosterX description, it includes information about the hardware configuration, the Windows version in use, the product key, as well as data about failed activation attempts. The purpose of collection is to track and improve the activation process and to confirm that genuine and properly licensed copies of Windows are being used. Disabling it stops the sending of this data.

Exceptions and differences

The setting is not intended to bypass activation: it does not issue a license, does not remove activation, and must not be used as a means of changing the Windows status — after disabling, the OS remains activated. If activation fails or you have changed hardware, restore the original state before diagnostics: without this telemetry, Microsoft does not receive data about failed attempts.

How to verify the result

After disabling, open “Settings” → “System” → “Activation”: the page loads and shows the previous activation status without errors.

How to change and revert

Open “Optimization” → “Privacy” → “Windows diagnostics and reports” → “License telemetry”, move the toggle to the “Enabled” position: BoosterX will apply the disabling of diagnostic activation data sending. Click “Apply”. With “Instant apply” enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, move the toggle to the “Disabled” position and apply the change again: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state with license telemetry sending.
