Can be disabled on a personal PC if you do not use Remote Assistance, corporate management and remote maintenance.

On a work device, leave the tasks enabled. The same applies to a computer that support connects to using standard Windows tools.

What changes

The Remote Assistance feature is affected — inviting help when you yourself ask another person to connect to your PC and help. According to the visible description, BoosterX tasks are “related to remote control”, “update computer management policies” and “are usually required for corporate PCs”. The effect of disabling these tasks is not documented separately: Microsoft describes the purpose of Remote Assistance, not the behavior of the feature after disabling, so the operation of the help invitation in the disabled state is not confirmed — test it on your system if you use the feature.

Exceptions and differences

  • Remote Desktop (RDP) is not part of the group: allowed remote connections to and from the PC are preserved.
  • Third-party remote access programs use their own services and tasks — the setting does not block them and does not replace the network firewall.
  • The setting is available in both Windows 10 and Windows 11 — there are no version restrictions in BoosterX.

How to verify the result

If you need the help invitation, create a test invitation before disabling and try again after: the effect of disabling these tasks is not documented separately and is verified on your system. Remote Desktop and third-party tools work as before.

How to change and revert

Open “Optimization” → “Tasks” → “Network and corporate features” → “Remote control” and switch the toggle to “Enabled”: BoosterX will disable the Remote Assistance tasks. Click “Apply” at the bottom of the page; if “Instant apply” is enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, switch the toggle to “Disabled” and apply the change again: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state with the tasks enabled.
