Windows compatibility

Windows 11 and Windows 10 starting from version 1709 are supported and tested, including regular, Enterprise, LTSC and IoT editions of Windows.

BoosterX accounts for differences between Windows versions and editions, as well as between laptops and desktop computers. The program checks the configuration and shows only the settings suitable for it.

Where support began

The first supported version was Windows 10 1709. BoosterX development began with it. Compatibility is tested both with subsequent Windows 10 releases and with released Windows 11 builds.

Every setting is tested on a suitable system. LTSC, Enterprise and IoT are supported and tested.

Automatic selection of settings

Before displaying and applying settings, BoosterX accounts for:

  • the version, build and edition of Windows;
  • whether it is a laptop or a desktop computer;
  • the available hardware;
  • the presence of the required Windows components;
  • the applicability of a specific setting to the current system.

That is why the interface may differ on two computers: unsuitable settings are hidden or not offered. The program itself may still be compatible with the system as a whole.

Windows Server

BoosterX is almost fully compatible with Windows Server if an edition with a regular desktop is installed. However, the program is aimed primarily at gaming client systems, so using it on a server with production roles is not recommended.

Use BoosterX on Windows Server if it is installed as a gaming system. Store, Xbox and other client components may be absent from it, and then the settings related to them will be unavailable. Compatibility with Windows Server Core has not been tested.

How to check your system

  1. Press Win + R.
  2. Type winver and press Enter.
  3. Write down the edition, version and build of Windows.
  4. If a specific setting is not displayed, then BoosterX does not consider it applicable to the current configuration.

For Windows Server, additionally check whether Desktop Experience is used, which roles are installed and whether the components that the selected setting is going to change are present.

How compatibility is tested

BoosterX compatibility is tested with functional checks on test systems — client editions of Windows 10 1709+ and Windows 11, including LTSC, Enterprise and IoT. For each setting, applicability is checked at runtime (version, build, edition, hardware), which is why the interface hides unsuitable settings. The statuses on this page are tested by the developer on test systems; there is no independent certification.
