What changes

The toggle forbids supported Store/UWP apps from exchanging data with already paired Bluetooth devices, including over Bluetooth LE. This is needed by the accessory app class: for example, vendor apps for fitness bands and headphones that connect to and poll the device themselves. After the block, a paired accessory disappears for such an app. The Bluetooth radio module itself and system pairing keep working — it is app access specifically that is closed.

Exceptions and differences

Classic accessory programs and drivers are not covered by the permission. Pairing new devices through the system “Settings” is not affected. Unlike “Contacts” or “Calendar”, there is no separate visible page for this permission in “Settings”. Do not confuse it with radio module management and trusted devices — these are different permissions with different effects.

How to verify the result

Connect a BLE accessory from its app: after the block, the paired device is not found or does not exchange data. After the permission is restored, the connection is re-established.

How to change and revert

Open “Optimization” → “Privacy” → “App permissions” → “App access to Bluetooth devices”, move the toggle to “On”: BoosterX will apply the block on exchange with paired Bluetooth devices. Click “Apply”. If “Instant apply” is enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, move the toggle to “Off” and apply the change again: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state with exchange allowed — and repeat the connection in the app.
