Disable

Disable it on an already configured PC: BoosterX itself recommends doing so.

Tips and suggestions disappear, but Windows updates themselves continue to install.

What changes

The setting disables four visible Windows scenarios described in BoosterX:

  • Consumer features — promotional tiles and automatic app installation after updates, including for all users of the device.
  • Welcome screen — the “Welcome to Windows” window after major updates.
  • Windows tips — pop-up tips on using the system.
  • “Let’s finish setting up” — the repeated setup screen after updates with offers for OneDrive, Microsoft 365 and Phone Link.

After disabling, these windows and tiles stop appearing. Windows updates themselves are not disabled — the setting only removes the introductory and advertising layer on top of them.

Exceptions and differences

The setting is available in both Windows 10 and Windows 11. If a new user needs system tips, leave the original state. No impact on gaming performance is claimed or has been measured.

How to verify the result

After the next major Windows update, the welcome screen and the “Let’s finish setting up” window do not appear.

How to change and revert

Open Optimization → Customization → Search and assistants → Customer Experience and set the toggle to “On”: BoosterX will apply the disabling of Customer Experience consumer scenarios. Click “Apply” at the bottom of the page; if “Instant apply” is enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, set the toggle to “Off”: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state — tips and suggestions come back.
