Pause Windows Updates

Recommendation
Preferred modeUse the pause before games, tests or important work, and then resume updates at a chosen time.
The pause does not remove Windows Update and does not replace regular installation of security patches.

What changes
Section titled “What changes”In Windows, a pause end date is set. Until that date, normal installation of updates is suspended. This makes it easier to predictably postpone updates during a game than with a complete disabling of system components.
How to check
Section titled “How to check”Open Settings → Windows Update and check the pause date. After the gaming or testing period ends, resume updates and make sure that scanning runs again.
How to change and revert
Section titled “How to change and revert”Open “Optimization” → “Basic” → “Updates and delivery” → “Pause Windows Updates”, enable the pause and apply the changes. To revert, disable it through BoosterX and check the state of Windows Update.
