What changes

Web suggestions while typing a query and the block of online results with Bing results disappear from the Windows search bar. The text you type stops being sent to the internet to generate suggestions. Local search remains fully intact: installed apps, Windows Settings and files are found immediately.

Exceptions and differences

This is the mild option: the neighboring setting «WebView2 for Search» disables the search web component itself and acts more aggressively — according to BoosterX’s own warning, web content and dependent search interface elements may then work incorrectly or fail to start. If you only want clean suggestions without breaking the interface, disable web results rather than WebView2. This setting does not replace file indexing or content search.

How to verify the result

Type the name of an installed app and the name of a Windows setting into search, for example «Bluetooth»: both should be found immediately. Web suggestions should not appear while typing, and online results should be absent from the output.

How to change and revert

In BoosterX, open «Optimization» → «Customization» → «Search and assistants» → «Web results in Search» and switch the toggle to «Enabled»: BoosterX will apply the disabling of web results in Search. Click «Apply» at the bottom of the page; with «Instant apply» enabled, the change is applied immediately. To revert, switch the toggle to «Disabled» and click «Apply» again — web suggestions and online results will return.
