In short

The setting disables the Cross-Device Resume feature — suggestions to continue on this computer work that was started on your phone. In the BoosterX research on Windows 11 Pro 25H2, after applying the setting, rebooting and signing in, this feature no longer showed any activity.

This disables a specific Resume feature. It does not turn off the entire cross-device link platform, other “Phone Link” features or its services.

Recommendation

If you do not need to continue work from your phone, disable Resume: in the tested scenario the feature stopped working. The FPS gain and overall memory savings were not measured. If you use Resume notifications, leave the feature enabled.

Limitations and verification

The result was confirmed on Windows 11 Pro 25H2 26200.9445. Support for other builds and behavior with a different set of components have not been confirmed. The implementation method inside BoosterX is not disclosed in this article; the methodology and observations are given in the research linked below.

How to verify the result

After applying, reboot the PC and sign in to your account. Make sure that “continue from your phone” suggestions no longer appear and that the synchronous resume feature in “Phone Link” does not activate. The absence of manifestations at the moment of checking does not prove that the feature did not start after signing in; that requires a log, as described in the research.

How to change and revert

Open Optimization → Tweaks → Cross-Device Resume, select disabling and click “Apply”. Reboot the PC. For this setting, instant apply is disabled, even if it is enabled for other tweaks.

To revert, select enabling in the same card, click “Apply” and reboot the PC. Reverting allows Resume. If the feature was previously disabled by another tool or an older method, a remaining restriction may prevent enabling it.
