On a gaming PC without corporate mail and calendar widgets, the permission can be closed — this is also how the visible BoosterX advice puts it.

Events from the account are not deleted; restore access if you use the calendar.

What changes

The toggle prevents supported Store/UWP apps from reading and modifying the calendar — meetings, events and reminders. The same decision at the global level is the toggle in the “Calendar” section on the “Settings” → “Privacy” page (in Windows 11 — “Privacy & security”). For example, the “Calendar” app and mail apps show the schedule, while widgets show upcoming events and meeting reminders. After the block, events are not displayed in Store apps and reminders do not arrive; the data in the account remains.

Exceptions and differences

Browser calendars and classic Win32 programs are not covered by this permission. Mail and calendar often live in the same app, but their permissions are independent — they can be closed separately. The set of “Settings” pages differs between Windows 10 and Windows 11 — check whether the section exists on your system.

How to verify the result

Open the “Calendar” app (or a mail app with a calendar): account events are not displayed, reminders do not arrive. After restoring the permission, the schedule appears again.

How to change and revert

Open “Optimization” → “Privacy” → “App permissions” → “App access to calendar”, move the toggle to the “On” position: BoosterX will apply the block on access to the calendar. Click “Apply”. If “Instant apply” is enabled, a separate button is not required. Restart the open app so that the block definitely takes effect. To revert, move the toggle to the “Off” position and apply the change again: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state with access to the calendar allowed.
