What changes
Section titled “What changes”The tasks transfer Windows settings between devices and maintain a backup of Microsoft account settings: theme, language and regional settings, passwords (including Wi-Fi passwords), accessibility and other supported settings. According to the visible description in BoosterX, the tasks “handle synchronization if you are signed in with a Microsoft account in your Windows”. OneDrive files are not included in the sync. After disabling, the current PC stops sending and receiving settings changes; the copy already saved remains in the account.
Exceptions and differences
Section titled “Exceptions and differences”- OneDrive background mode and file sync are configured separately: “OneDrive”.
- The sync feature itself in Windows is described on the pages “Microsoft account settings sync” and “Cloud sync”.
- The setting is available in both Windows 10 and Windows 11 — BoosterX has no version restrictions.
How to verify the result
Section titled “How to verify the result”Open “Settings” → “Accounts” → “Windows backup” (in Windows 10 — “Sync your settings”). Change the theme or wallpaper on this PC and wait a few minutes on a second device with the same account — the change will not appear.
How to change and revert
Section titled “How to change and revert”Open “Optimization” → “Tasks” → “Microsoft ecosystem” → “Microsoft sync” and set the toggle to “Enabled”: BoosterX will disable the background tasks for syncing and backing up settings.
