BoosterX optimization

In the “Optimization” section you can configure Windows, background components and hardware. You select the changes you need, read the warnings and apply the entire selected set in one run.

You do not need to apply every available setting. Choose them with regard to your Windows version, hardware and the features you use.

BoosterX does not promise an FPS increase. Where the impact of a setting has been measured, the setting page links directly to a study with numbers and conditions. In other cases, the recommendation rests on a confirmed mechanism and a local effect — without numeric promises that cannot be backed up.

The direction of a BoosterX toggle may differ from what you are used to: the enabled position applies the state BoosterX considers optimal for games (often this is precisely disabling a feature), while the disabled position returns Windows to its default state. In each article, the “How to change and revert” section states the exact position and what exactly it will apply.

BoosterX automatically selects the available settings. Their set depends on the Windows version, build and edition, the type of computer, the hardware, the installed components, the selected mode and the license. That is why the interface may differ on two computers. If a particular setting is missing, that alone does not mean the whole program is incompatible.

Display modes

The display mode determines how many settings are available for manual selection:

• “Safe” shows the basic set and hides parameters that require additional verification on the user’s part.
• “Advanced” adds settings that require weighing more trade-offs and opens additional pages.
• “Expert” shows expert and experimental parameters if the other access conditions are met.

“Expert” settings are not necessarily more effective than “Safe” settings. Usually they require more knowledge, suit fewer configurations or change Windows behavior more noticeably.

Additional capabilities may depend on the license and the selected display mode.

Availability of settings

Before displaying and applying a setting, BoosterX automatically checks its compatibility with the current system. Inapplicable settings are hidden, blocked or marked as unsupported. Do not try to bypass such a restriction manually without checking the reason.

Current, selected and applied state

A setting has three states:

1. Current: what BoosterX detected in Windows.
2. Selected: what you added to the set to be applied.
3. Applied: what the program executed after confirmation.

In normal mode, a button or toggle first changes the selected state. Before applying, review the overall list and the warnings. With an active PRO license you can enable “Instant apply”: supported actions may be performed immediately, without a separate “Apply” button. Some settings are excluded from this mode. The order of the first application and restoration is described in the “Getting started” section.

What reverting to the original state means

Reverting to the original state depends on the specific setting. Use the restoration action provided in the interface and verify the result after performing it.

The restoration profile covers the changes supported by BoosterX, but it is not a complete copy of Windows. File cleanup, app removal and other irreversible actions require separate confirmation and cannot always be reverted by the profile.

How to choose settings

1. Start with “Safe” and change only the features you understand.
2. Open the setting description and check what exactly will be disabled or changed.
3. Do not apply the entire section just for a higher optimization percentage.
4. Check the warnings about Bluetooth, printing, Xbox, Store, updates and other components you use.
5. After applying, check that your working features still function, then measure performance under identical conditions.
