What changes

During the initial device setup, Windows offers consent to a number of optional privacy scenarios. According to the visible BoosterX description, these are, for example, location services, data collection and personalized advertising; consent during installation also covers similar scenarios — personalization, recommendations and tips, speech recognition. The setting withdraws consent already given and restricts these scenarios.

Exceptions and differences

There is no single switch for all of Windows privacy: the setting does not delete data already sent, while app permissions, advertising IDs and the diagnostic data level (“Telemetry in the data collection policy”) are restricted separately. If a feature you need has stopped working — for example, personalized tips — restore the original state and configure permissions selectively.

How to verify the result

Open “Settings” → “Privacy & security” and check step by step: “Diagnostics & feedback” — the minimum data level; “General” — suggestions and personalization are off; “App permissions” → “Location” — access is restricted. In Windows 10 the same sections are gathered on the page “Settings” → “Privacy”.

How to change and revert

Open “Optimization” → “Privacy” → “System privacy” → “Declining the Windows privacy consent” and set the toggle to “On”: BoosterX will apply the withdrawal of the given consent — optional privacy scenarios are restricted. Click “Apply”. With “Instant apply” enabled, a separate button is not required. To restore the original consent, set the toggle to “Off” and apply the change again: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state, in which consent is considered accepted.
