What changes

The “Task View” button disappears from the taskbar; it opens an overview of open windows and virtual desktops. Hiding is purely visual: the feature itself does not go anywhere.

Virtual desktops remain: Win+Tab opens the overview of windows and desktops, Win+Ctrl+D creates a new desktop, Win+Ctrl+стрелки switches between them. All running windows and desktops are preserved both before and after hiding the button.

Exceptions and differences

The setting is available in both Windows 10 and Windows 11; only the appearance of the button differs. In Windows 10 the button with thumbnails sits to the right of the search box, in Windows 11 it is in the left group next to “Search” and “Widgets”. The purpose is the same, so the habit of Win+Tab carries over between versions without loss.

How to verify the result

After hiding the button, press Win+Ctrl+D to create a new desktop and Win+Tab to switch between desktops: the window overview opens as before.

How to change and revert

Open Optimization → Customization → Windows Shell → Show Task View and set the toggle to “On”: BoosterX will apply hiding of the “Task View” button. Click “Apply” at the bottom of the page; if “Instant apply” is enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, set the toggle to “Off”: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state — the button is shown again.
