What changes

Windows feedback and diagnostics is a feature that lets you send feedback to Microsoft: problem reports, suggestions for new features and ratings of how well Windows works. According to the visible BoosterX description, it also collects data about the computer’s hardware and software configuration, app usage and other system metrics — Microsoft uses these to identify and fix Windows problems. Disabling it stops background feedback requests and this collection.

After disabling, Windows stops periodically prompting you to leave feedback or rate how it works; you can still send a report manually through the Feedback Hub. Windows Insider Program participants are better off leaving the setting enabled: without it, ratings and the collected diagnostic data that troubleshooting in Insider builds relies on stop being sent. Rating notifications for individual apps are disabled separately — “App reminder to improve performance”.

How to verify the result

Use Windows for a few days: invitations to rate how Windows works and prompts to leave feedback no longer appear, either in the Action Center or as pop-up windows.

How to change and revert

Open “Optimization” → “Privacy” → “Scheduler and background tasks” → “Windows feedback and diagnostics” and set the toggle to “Enabled”: BoosterX will apply the disabling of the feedback mechanism and the associated data collection. Click “Apply”. With “Instant apply” enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, set the toggle to “Disabled” and apply the change again: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state with feedback working.
