The page collects Windows services by function. You can select an entire group of related services instead of configuring each one individually. Each group has a description of its purpose.
The catalog is divided into two blocks: “Safe to disable” and “Dangerous to disable”. They contain groups for printing and scanning, Hyper-V, Bluetooth, VPN and proxy, local network, remote management, diagnostics and Xbox. Some system services are shown separately.
What changes
Section titled “What changes”Disabling a group stops services that are actually running in the background and frees up resources. BoosterX takes into account parent and child service dependencies and shows warnings before disabling. The interconnection is not always obvious: for example, disabling the Bluetooth group may also affect online driver updates, because the corresponding services depend on each other.
At the top of the page there is a “Hide non-running services” toggle: groups hide services that are not currently running, including those in manual startup mode. This simplifies selection when the goal is to reduce the actual background load rather than disable services “just in case”. The “Refresh” button updates the current state, and the “Default”, “Optimal” and “Maximum” modes set the target state of the groups.
Who it suits and limitations
Section titled “Who it suits and limitations”- The most resource-intensive services and drivers are already covered by the “Basic” section and other BoosterX settings: where a setting disables a feature, the related service is also disabled — if it noticeably affects the background load. “Service groups” does not duplicate this, but provides manual control.
- The page is intended primarily for weak PCs, where every background process matters. Disabling groups can break Windows features, and the gain on an ordinary computer is small.
- By default, the page is hidden from “Optimization”: it appears after enabling the “Show service groups” toggle in the “Settings” section of the app.
How to check the result
Section titled “How to check the result”After applying, restart the PC and check sign-in, network, sound, Store, updates and the game. Return to the page and make sure the disabled services are in the expected state.
How to change and revert
Section titled “How to change and revert”The “Default” mode returns the groups to their stock values — apply it if something broke after disabling. A separate group can be reverted selectively in its card. Before making changes, create a restore point.
