What changes

The tasks serve the Windows Insider program — testing and distribution of Windows preview builds. According to the visible description in BoosterX, these are “tasks related to the processes of testing and distributing preview versions of the operating system through the Windows Insider program”. On stable Windows the visible consequence is one: nothing important is lost. Regular cumulative updates continue to arrive through Windows Update — only the preview build mechanisms are affected: their receipt, evaluation and feature testing reports.

Exceptions and differences

  • If the computer participates in the Insider Program, do not disable the tasks: without them, the receipt and servicing of preview builds may be disrupted.
  • The setting is available in both Windows 10 and Windows 11 — BoosterX has no version restrictions. Disabling does not affect the regular Windows Update channel.

How to verify the result

Open “Settings” → “Windows Update”: regular updates continue to be found and installed. In the “Windows Insider Program” section on the same page, the current participation status is visible — on a stable system it remains unchanged.

How to change and revert

Open “Optimization” → “Tasks” → “Privacy and telemetry” → “Windows Insider (Flighting) tasks” and set the toggle to “Enabled”: BoosterX will disable the Windows Insider program tasks. Click “Apply” at the bottom of the page; if “Instant apply” is enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, set the toggle to “Disabled” and apply the change again: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state with the tasks enabled.
