Can be closed if accessories are connected and configured manually: this is the visible advice BoosterX gives to Steam and Epic owners.

The block does not disable the devices themselves or their system connection.

A trusted device is an accessory paired with the computer that the user has designated as trusted; BoosterX describes it as “a hardware device or accessory that has been paired with the user’s computer and has been designated by the user as ‘trusted’”, for example a connected TV or projector. The toggle blocks supported Store/UWP apps from exchanging data with such devices. After the block, the app no longer sees the trusted accessory; the device itself and its system connection continue to work.

Do not confuse three similar permissions. Sync with devices — data exchange with explicitly linked devices such as a linked phone; sync with wireless devices — automatic discovery of devices that are not explicitly paired; trusted devices are designated manually. Classic programs are not covered by the block. The set of “Settings” pages differs between Windows 10 and Windows 11 — check whether the section exists on your system.

Launch an app that works with a paired accessory: the trusted device is no longer found. After the permission is restored, the connection is restored.

Open “Optimization” → “Privacy” → “App permissions” → “App access to trusted devices”, move the toggle to the “On” position: BoosterX will apply the block on communication with trusted devices. Click “Apply”. If “Instant apply” is enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, move the toggle to the “Off” position and apply the change again: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state with communication with trusted devices allowed.
