What changes

Windows Copilot manifests itself through visible entry points: a button on the taskbar and the keyboard shortcut Win+C. Pressing it opens the assistant sidebar.

The BoosterX setting disables the built-in Windows Copilot AI. After disabling, neither the button nor Win+C opens the assistant panel. Shared Windows web components are not removed in the process, so the setting should not be considered a complete cleanup of the system from the web layer — that is addressed separately by the “WebView2 for Search” setting.

Exceptions and differences

BoosterX shows this setting only in Windows 11 — in Windows 10 the card is hidden. Copilot itself did not exist everywhere in Windows 10: its availability depended on the build and region, so check whether the assistant is present on your build. The availability and behavior of the component change between Windows builds — do not carry a result from an old build over to a new one without checking.

How to verify the result

Press Win+C and look at the taskbar: the Copilot window does not open, and there is no assistant button on the taskbar.

How to change and revert

Open Optimization → Customization → Search and assistants → Windows Copilot and set the toggle to “On”: BoosterX will apply the disabling of Windows Copilot. Click “Apply” at the bottom of the page; if “Instant apply” is enabled, a separate button is not required. To revert, set the toggle to “Off”: BoosterX will return Windows to its default state (Copilot enabled).
