CS2 Optimizer

CS2 Optimizer (in the app the page is called CS2 Optimizer) gathers the game’s settings on a single BoosterX screen: launch options and autoexec commands. The tool finds the installed CS2 on its own; if the game is not on the computer, instead of the settings the label “CS2 not found” is shown, and there is nowhere to edit the profile before installing the game.

The FPS gain from the selected profile is not guaranteed: the commands change the game’s behavior, not the performance of the hardware.

How to open

In the current version of BoosterX the page is not available from the “Tools” catalog: there is no tool card in the catalog, and the page itself is marked with the label “This page is under development”. The features below are described as of the tool’s state; before use, check whether the page has appeared in your version of BoosterX.

What is available

  • “Launch options” — selecting a profile and editing the launch options string. The toggles add ready-made parameters: for example “Tickrate 128”, “Disable the CS:GO launch splash screen”, “Open the console when the game starts”, “Allow third-party software (OBS, RivaTuner, etc.)”.
  • “Autoexec Editor” (heading “CFG Editor”) — two tabs. “Autoexec Generator” adds the selected commands to autoexec.cfg with toggles: for example “Dynamic light”, “Shadows”, “Fog”. “Editor” opens autoexec.cfg in full: the file is loaded into the field, changes are saved with the save button.

Backup before the first edit

  1. Write down the current launch options string from the game’s properties or from the “Launch options” page.
  2. Copy the existing autoexec.cfg and other CS2 configuration files to a separate folder.
  3. Only after that make changes — one at a time.
  4. Launch the game and check the controls, the network and the display.

Verify commands from the internet manually: an unknown command can change the controls, the network or the display. For graphics modes and latency, take into account the results of the FSO, FSE and CS2 study. The same preset does not guarantee the same behavior on different Windows builds and PC configurations.

How to undo

Return the saved launch options string to the “Launch options” page and restore the original autoexec.cfg from the copy — this is a guaranteed rollback to the state before the edits.
