BIOS in optimization

The “Optimization → BIOS” tab in the current version of BoosterX is unavailable and is not shown in the section menu. The main way to work with firmware parameters is the separate BIOS tool: open Tools → BIOS, run board detection and work with the supported firmware parameters of the current computer.

What the tab was designed for

The hidden tab is built on a list of safe BIOS parameters with allowed values “Enabled”/“Disabled”, a recommended value, a risk level and a “requires reboot” flag; currently the list contains Hyper-Threading and Resizable BAR, and the recommended value for both is “Enabled”. Applying the selected values was done with the “Optimal” button, and refreshing the parameters with the “Refresh” button. While the tab is hidden, these parameters are available only in the BIOS tool.

Application rules

1. First run detection of the current board and firmware version.
2. Export the original profile and save the manufacturer’s manual.
3. Check that the profile belongs to the same board model and BIOS version.
4. Apply a small group of parameters with stable power.
5. After the reboot, check boot, memory, drives, network, temperatures and sleep.

Do not apply a profile from another computer and do not interrupt the firmware write. Even if a parameter is available in the interface, the selected value must be verified for your board revision.

How to verify the result

After the reboot the system must start without failures; check every item from the application rules — memory, drives, network, temperatures and sleep — and compare the behavior with the state before the change.

How to change and revert

Work through Tools → BIOS: before changes, save the current profile to a file, and use the saved profile to revert. Detailed warnings and recovery are on the BIOS tool page.
